Carpet cleaning in Cleveland
Hot water extraction from a truck-mounted machine, room by room, with the spots and traffic lanes treated first. Most houses take a couple of hours and are dry by dinner.
What we actually do
First we walk the rooms with you and point out anything that might not come out, so nobody's surprised later. Then we vacuum the worst of the traffic areas, spray a pre-treatment on the lanes and spots, and give it a few minutes to work.
The cleaning itself is hot water extraction. The water is heated in the truck, sprayed down into the pile and pulled straight back up through the wand, along with whatever the pre-treatment loosened. We finish with a rinse pass so there's no soapy film left to catch new dirt, then groom the carpet so it dries evenly and the pile stands back up.

Spots and stains
Coffee, mud, pop and most food come out. Red wine, Kool-Aid and nail polish are harder: some lighten, some don't. Bleach spots aren't stains at all, they're missing color, so no amount of cleaning brings them back. We'll tell you which is which before we start.
Moving stuff
We move chairs, end tables and the small stuff and put it back. Beds, dressers, pianos and entertainment centers we clean around, with foam blocks under the legs of anything sitting on damp carpet.
What it costs
Most rooms run $45 to $65. A full staircase is $50 to $80, and a typical three-bedroom house comes out somewhere around $160 to $260. Pet odor treatment is extra and priced per spot. There's a $125 minimum so the drive makes sense for us.
Common questions
Can I walk on it right away?
In socks, yes. Keep shoes and pets off until it's dry, which is usually four to eight hours.
Do you use a lot of chemicals?
Not much. The pre-treatment does the heavy lifting on the traffic lanes and the rinse is mostly hot water. Everything is safe for kids and pets once it's dry.
How often should it be done?
About once a year for most houses, more often with pets or allergies. We wrote a whole post on it: how often should you clean your carpet?
